Behind every WordCamp is a group of people who make the event feel welcoming, organised, and memorable. Volunteers are the ones who greet attendees with a smile, help things run smoothly behind the scenes, and create the friendly atmosphere WordCamps are known for.

With WordCamp Slovenia 2026 approaching, we’re excited to announce that volunteer applications are now open.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in the WordPress community, this is a great place to start.

Volunteering at WordCamp Slovenia is about supporting the event while still being able to enjoy it. Volunteers help in many different ways throughout the day, from assisting attendees and speakers to helping with logistics and community spaces.

The conference takes place over one full day, and volunteer shifts are planned so you’ll still have time to attend sessions, meet people, and join the social activities in the evening.

You don’t need previous experience. Whether this is your first WordCamp or you’ve attended many before, you’ll be supported and guided along the way.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to experience a WordCamp from the inside. It’s a chance to:

  • meet people from the local and international WordPress community,
  • learn how a community-led event is organised,
  • connect with speakers, organisers, and attendees,
  • and contribute to something that benefits the entire ecosystem.

Many long-term community members started their WordCamp journey as volunteers.

There are many different ways to contribute, and roles will be matched based on interests and needs closer to the event. Volunteers may help with:

  • welcoming and assisting attendees,
  • supporting speakers and sessions,
  • helping at community and sponsor areas,
  • sharing moments from the event on social media,
  • or providing general on-site support to keep everything running smoothly.

Flexibility and a positive attitude matter more than specific skills.

Anyone who is curious about WordPress, enjoys helping others, and wants to be part of a collaborative community is welcome to apply.

You don’t need to be a developer or an expert. WordCamp Slovenia is for everyone — and so is volunteering.

If you’d like to be part of Slovenia’s first WordCamp, help create a great experience for others, and connect with the WordPress community in a meaningful way, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer applications are now open: apply today and join us at WordCamp Slovenia 2026. 💚
