Every WordCamp is shaped by the people who step up and share what they know. Talks are where ideas come to life, where mistakes turn into lessons, and where everyday WordPress work becomes something others can learn from.

With WordCamp Slovenia 2026 approaching, we’re opening the Call for Speakers and inviting the community to help shape a full day of learning, discussion, and inspiration.

If you’ve ever thought “maybe I could talk about this” — this is your sign.

WordCamp Slovenia is a community-run event, built around openness and inclusion. Talks aren’t about being a “guru” or having all the answers. They’re about sharing real experiences: what worked, what didn’t, and what you learned along the way.

Whether you work with WordPress every day or occasionally, whether your background is technical, creative, or business-focused — your perspective can help someone else.

First-time speakers are more than welcome, and you won’t be left on your own. The organising team will support you before and during the event.

Giving a talk at WordCamp Slovenia is a chance to:

  • turn your experience into something useful for others,
  • become more involved in the local WordPress community,
  • meet people you’d otherwise only know online,
  • grow confidence in presenting and sharing ideas,
  • contribute to an event that’s built by the community, for the community.

Some of the most memorable talks come from practical examples, honest challenges, and stories from real projects.

We’re keeping the topic scope broad on purpose. WordPress is more than just code, and so is WordCamp.

Talks may focus on areas such as:

  • development and technical workflows,
  • business, marketing, and client work,
  • user experience and accessibility,
  • education and learning with WordPress,
  • community stories and unconventional use cases.

If your idea doesn’t fit neatly into a category, that’s absolutely fine.

WordCamp Slovenia 2026 will feature different types of sessions, including:

  • Standard talks for deeper dives into a topic,
  • Workshops for hands-on, interactive learning,
  • Lightning talks for short, focused ideas or quick lessons learned.

You can choose the format that best matches your topic and comfort level.

We strongly encourage women and people from underrepresented groups to apply. If you’ve ever hesitated because you felt you weren’t “experienced enough” — you’re exactly the kind of voice we’d love to hear.

WordCamp is about reflecting the diversity of the people who use and build WordPress every day.

If you have an idea, a lesson learned, or an experience worth sharing, we’d love to hear from you.

Speaker applications are now open. Help shape WordCamp Slovenia 2026 — apply and be part of the story. 💚
